Hellooooo! :)
The hills are alive.... with the sound of music.
Dandelion & Burdock and I thought it would be fulfilling to have a day trip to Salzburg.
Getting Here
We took the Eurail from Munich to Salzburg- we bought the student Eurail pass for 317 euros. The normal price is 394 euros. I'm not that sure about single ticket prices though.
The Sound Of Music Tour
We boarded the bus at the bus terminal at Mirabellplatz in front of St. Andrew's Church. This trip cost us about $80 in SGD, which is quite worth it if you're a Sound of Music fan. It's also pretty okay if you want to go around Salzburg, and go out into small towns and admire the scenery.
This trip brought us around Salzburg to the places where Sound of Music was filmed - and you guessed it, there was a lot of Sound of Music facts, jokes and singing (which was all in good fun, but I was way too embarrassed to sing).
This is the Schloss Leopoldskron! It's a rococo-style palace.
We also visited the very famous Schloss Mirabell and Mirabell Gardens, seen here:
We also drove out to Mondsee, a nice little town. This was one of the photos we took on the drive there! Don't you love those dreamy mountains?

Food
Food in Salzburg is absolutely delicious!
We just tried a random ice cream flavour on the streets - tastes so good!
Shown here is Mozart ice cream (which is pistachio).
We went to Das Johann, near Salzburg HBF, for snacks. Chocolate cake was so rich and heavenly.
Here's the apple strudel in creamy hot vanilla sauce.
When we went to Mondsee, we had tea at the Cafe-Konditorei Braun, which was recommended by our tour guide.
We tried the petit-four, which was so rich with brandy, and paired it with hot chocolate. They tasted too good to be true.
All in all, desserts in Salzburg are really worth saving your stomach for!
Well, that concludes our Salzburg Sound of Music post!
Have you guys been around Salzburg? Comment if you have and let me know which sights you enjoyed!
