Prague: The City of A Hundred Spires

Hellooooo! :)

Dandelion & Burdock and I Czeched (get it?) into Prague.

Getting Here We took the bus from Munich to Prague, which was included in the Eurail pass. We initially wanted to take the train, but there were no trains to Prague on that day from Munich. The bus was a 4 hour ride, and it was not cool at all.

I felt that the seats were kinda small. Also if you don't fancy bumpy bus rides in general, don't take this! I'd advise you to wait a day or two to find the train, or try to get a carpool over.

Accommodation

We stayed at Central Hotel, Prague which was SGD 249/night. It's relatively near Old Town Square, which is good because I usually like doing a night time stroll around Old Town. If you're a light sleeper, perhaps you shouldn't take a hotel near Old Town, because people sometimes party until 6am on weekends.

Other than that though, the rooms are also rather cosy and clean - and the breakfast is lovely.

FOOD (and drinks)

Oh my, what quaint and delicious street food.

There's the trdelník which is this soft, sweet dough encrusted with sugar crystals and you guessed it... soft serve ice cream on top! These are sold everywhere along the streets of Old Town, so be sure to try a few different kinds of ice creams.

Beer (pivo) is really cheap here too! So have beer! There's U Kunštátů beer garden, where you can try many different types of beers. My favourite is the Strawberry Weisse beer from Raven Brewery.

Otherwise, just have a beer with whatever you have! I always take the local Pilsner Urquell if they have it, because it is extremely light! I love light beers :)

For meals, I would recommend trying the Mexican food at Las Adelitas, which is located in Old Town. The service and food are both excellent and authentic!

I would also recommend trying out the cafes here! We went to Cafe Savoy and Cafe Imperial, both of which are good for their delicious food and decor. I would recommend that you make reservations to avoid the queue too!

These are from Savoy Cafe :) The only downside is that service staff are kinda standoff-ish at times, but hopefully you wouldn't get that experience!

I really recommend the apple strudel in Savoy Cafe!

At Imperial Cafe, the chicken is so good.

They also have a Bailey's milkshake. :)

I love the decor at Cafe Imperial too - it kinda transports you back to romantic era Prague - looks very Neo-Renaissance in my opinion (but I could be wrong!)

Anyway, I really enjoyed the food and hotel here! Look out for my next post about sightseeing in Prague.

Meanwhile, please give me recommendations about what to eat in Prague next time :) Share your stories about Prague :)
