Hellooooo! :)
This will be part 1/8 of our Eastern Europe series... and we'll be talking about Munich today.
It's quite a nice city, but I feel that Dandelion & Burdock and I haven't really seen all of it yet!
Getting Here
After landing in Munich Terminal 1, we walked to Area A and boarded the Luftansia shuttle bus from the airport to the train station, München Hauptbahnhof (which cost 11 euros!).
When we alighted, we first checked in to our hotel, Hotel Goethe, which was a 10-5min walk from the Hauptbahnhof (don't let Google maps fool you!).
Accommodation
This hotel costs SGD185/night. The ambience is not bad for a 3 star hotel- it's modest and clean! In the morning, there's a good breakfast spread, there are also cats that wander around, but we didn't get a clear photo of them :( If you don't mind the neighbourhood's noise at night, this is worth your buck!
If you fancy something classier, Regent Hotel is also a good place within 5min walking distance from the Hauptbahnhof. We stayed here for 1 night before flying off from Munich on our last day in Europe!

The Munich Residenz
While most people hit the beer gardens immediately, we wandered around aimlessly in Munich and just admired the exteriors, all while trying to find Munich Residenz.
We didn't manage to find it at first, and kinda walked in to the museum from the back door...
Munich Residenz was a former palace converted into a museum - so if you like (or owuld like to know more about) Bavarian history, this is totally the place to go!
There is also an exhibition for crowns and various royal knick-knacks:
Food-wise, Munich is a melting pot of cultures, so there's really all sorts to choose from! Beer is also cheap everywhere (pints can average to about 2-3 euros), and are worth a try!
Well, that concludes Munich for now, stay tuned for the next part of our series, which will detail the castles in Bavaria!
